How to book Train Ticket?

To book a train ticket in India, you have two options:

- You can book online through the IRCTC portal or other websites or apps like Goibibo, RailYatri, or EaseMyTrip. For this, you need to create an account on the IRCTC website and enter your travel details, such as the departure and destination stations, date of travel, and class of travel. You can also check seat availability, fare enquiry, and PNR status on these platforms. You can pay for your ticket using various modes like credit/debit cards, UPI, wallets, etc. You will receive a confirmation message and email with your PNR number after booking.

- You can book offline at the railway station ticket counter. For this, you need to visit the nearest railway station and fill a reservation form with your passenger details, such as name, age, gender, berth preference, etc. You can also opt for various quotas and concessions at the counter. You need to pay for your ticket in cash or card and collect your ticket with the PNR number from the counter.

You can book a train ticket up to 120 days in advance, excluding the date of journey at the train originating station. The booking timings are between 8 am to 8.30 am for general quota and between 10 am to 12:00pm for tatkal quota. Tatkal tickets can be booked a day in advance.

I hope this helps you book a train ticket in India.🚆
